Ce conte traduit met en scène un marabout érudit et son talibé préféré. Soupçonnant une liaison entre son épouse et le talibé, le marabout feint un voyage et se cache dans un tamarinier. La femme tente de séduire le talibé au champ. Au moment décisif, elle aperçoit son mari caché et avertit indirectement le talibé. Celui-ci comprend le piège. L’histoire illustre la ruse, la tentation et la peur du châtiment, tout en conservant une tonalité morale et ironique.
